In // The Underwater Photographer // Author Martin Edge walks the reader through camera settings including apertures, lighting, shutter speeds, mass storage devices etc. The truly helpful thing is that Edge also explains these functions and how they will effect an underwater shot. Edge gives the reader an idea of that equipment they will need and what purpose that equipment will do for you.
This book is filed with incredible underwater photography. Edge goes into detail about how these shots were created, and the kind of equipment that was used. Edge also includes the thought process behind that shot and he conveys this very well to the reader. The photos are in full color and beautiful. This book is a reference book but it could be used as a coffee table book just based on the photography.
From Chapter one: Principles of underwater photography to Chapter 12: developing a work flow system by Stuart Gibson, this book is a gold mine of information for the novice to intermediate underwater photographer.
Martin Edge clearly has the expertise and the writing style that make for a good easy to understand reference book. This reviewer very highly recommends this book.
