It has been many years since I have studied this period of archaeology/history. In preparing for a trip to Southwest France and vists to some of the caves or pseudo caves in the case of Lascaus II, I decided on this book. It is a very accurate and readable summary of the painted caves. It weaves the discovery, excavation and art into a very readable and enjoyable story.
