I have to agree with the other reviewer here that commented on Greenfield's phrasing, his quoting of Shakespeare, etc. It did get very tedious! I bought this book because I truly enjoyed his other book on the Stones. My first copy was cut up for the pictures (I was a teenager) that I put on my walls, the second was a used one that I could only find online, many years later. I cherish this book. But "Season in Hell" turned out to be a dud. The only useful thing I gleaned from it (hence the two stars and not one) was the writing about Gram Parsons. I had always wanted to learn more about his relationship with the Stones and Keith in particular. But the rest of it just didn't do much for me. I'll stick with Greenfield's first book!Get more detail about Exile on Main St.: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones.
