George Lucas's Blockbusting: A Decade-by-Decade Survey of Timeless Movies Including Untold Secrets of Their Financial and Cultural Success

A seminal text of the film industry that at once captures everything one would want to know on the history of motion pictures, the film business and the technical side of filmmaking. I wish I had this book when I went to USC Film School as much of this information was, and still is, until this book, spread over many divergent sources.
In this one volume, you can overview the entire film industry from Muybridge to Cameron.

I was surprised to find many of the financial figures for the films which were never released before and must have been difficult to pry out of the studio system. In addition, the film "trivia" is outstanding and although I am a working film professional, I never knew about before. Great research.

My hat is off to George Lucas who once again has advanced the film business more that anyone in the last 70 years, this text alongside his advancements in special effects, NLE , 3-D animation and THX sound.

This book SHOULD now be standard issue at USC Cinema and film schools around the world.Get more detail about George Lucas's Blockbusting: A Decade-by-Decade Survey of Timeless Movies Including Untold Secrets of Their Financial and Cultural Success.
