Buy Back to the Garden: The Story of Woodstock

I found the book an excellent read. Yes, Woodstock was about peace, love and music but it also launched rock and roll into the "big business" of music. The "prima donnas" who wanted special treatment for showing up, the groups that appeared because the promoters wanted to highlight their own acts, the lousy proformances as well as the unforgettable, the Bill Grahams, Wavy Gravys and John Morris' as well as about another 500K who watched, it was all part of the show. Pete let the participants speak for themselves and we found although many a group or performer was launched into superstardom, just as many, it seemed, faded into oblivion. Great book. The background he supplied for many of the performers was an added bonus.Get more detail about Back to the Garden: The Story of Woodstock.
